The Chiriquí province is home to an amazing variety of attractions which include beaches, islands, rivers for white water rafting and kayaking, high-altitude mountains for hiking and climbing, lush tropical forests which host exotic flora and fauna, and lively cities such as David, the capital of the province. Chiriquí is located in the western region of Panama, with Costa Rica forming its western border and the Pacific Ocean to its south. Its particularly unique terrain gives Chiriquí an ideal climate for agriculture. The Highland areas, including Boquete and Volcán, are gifted with fertile soil. This soil and climate tandem allows for abundant harvests of coffee, oranges, strawberries and vegetables every year.
